Upcoming Live / Virtual Events

Organized by month into 2021, with registration deadlines, abstract submission deadlines, and save-the-dates.

October 2020

October 27-30: 2020 NIH Virtual Seminar on Program Funding and Grants Administration. Virtual, registration is free.

November - December 2020

November 2-3: Adherence 2020. (Originally scheduled for June 7-10, 2020 in Orlando, FL; but was postponed.) A virtual pre-conference was held May 6 - more here.

November 3 through November 27 on staggered dates throughout the month: HIV & Adolescent 2020 Workshop. Rescheduled to these dates for a virtual event; 10 sessions over the month of November. Program calendar is here.

November 4-6: Community-Based Research Centre (CBRC) Summit 2020: Resistance & Responsibility. Virtual event.

November 17 at 11am EST. Early-Stage Investigator Lecture, "Scaling up HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis to End the HIV Epidemic" from Julia Marcus, PhD, MPH, Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute, webinar from the National Institutes of Health Office of Disease Prevention.

November 16-20: Howard University International Conference on Stigma. Will be virtual (was originally to be held in Washington, DC.) Agenda is here.

November 16-17: Strategies for an HIV Cure, virtual event presented by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

November 19, 2020: Listening Session, Sexual & Gender Minority Health Research - 1-2:30pm ET (virtual event). Registration is required.

November 19-20: 2020 Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS) Annual Conference. Will be held virtually with some on-demand sessions to be posted ahead of the conference on November 6.

November 30 - December 4: INTEREST Conference. Rescheduled to these dates, will now be virtual.

December 15-17: 13th Annual Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation in Health. Virtual event.

2020 Events Canceled/Rescheduled to 2021

2020 Hispanic Health Conference - Rescheduled to March 18-21, 2021.

2020 Conference on Adolescent Health - Canceled. Save the date for 2021: May 13-14 next year, will be virtual.

Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference. Philadelphia, PA; postponed to next year, August 19-21, 2021. (Was to be held July 23-25, 2020.)

2021 Conferences

January 27-28 and February 3-4: HIV R4P (HIV Research for Prevention) Conference. Now a virtual event, registration is open until January 11, 2021.

February 2, 2021: International AIDS Society (IAS) COVID-19 Conference: Prevention. Research submissions will be accepted between October 27 - November 24, 2020. Conference will be held virtually, and registration will open November 4, 2020.

March 6-10, 2021: CROI, Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections. Abstracts are due December 1, 2020 (deadline was extended). Registration for the virtual component opens in November 2020.

March 22-25: Fast-Track Cities 2021. Lisbon, Portugal, March 22-25, 2021. Abstracts due October 30, 2020. Early registration deadline is November 6 / standard registration deadline is January 8, 2021.

March 10-13, 2021. Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine Annual Meeting. Baltimore, MD (Marriott Waterfront Hotel).

April 12-16, 2021: Society for Behavioral Medicine Annual Meeting, and read the announcement that the meeting will be virtual here. (2020 meeting was canceled.)

April 8-10, 2021: ACTHIV 2021, American Conference for the Treatment of HIV. Denver, CO; Hyatt Regency Denver.

April 28-30: 2021 Spring ATN Meeting - Save the date. More about ATN full meetings here.

May 20-22, 2021: National LGBTQ Health Conference. Chicago, IL, Holiday Inn Chicago-Mart Plaza River North

June 2-5, 2021: Symposium on Data Science & Statistics, American Statistical Association. St. Louis, MO. Abstract submission is open - with refereed submissions due November 23, 2020. Registration opens January 14, 2021.

July 18-21, 2021: 11th International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Science. Save the date, in Berlin, Germany.

Scientific Webinar Series, from the Sexual & Gender Minority Research Office, National Institutes of Health.

First in this series can be seen as a recording, titled, "What will it take to create health equity for sexual and gender minority young people?" presented by Brian Mustanski, PhD, Director, Northwestern Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing.

Second in this series now available as a recording, on "Designing Sexual and Reproductive Health Research with and for Sexual and Gender Minority People," which was held October 20, 2020. Speakers were: Heidi Moseson (she/her), PhD, MPH - Epidemiologist, Ibis Reproductive Health; Juno Obedin-Maliver (she/her), MD, MPH, MAS - Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Epidemiology and Population Health at Stanford University of School of Medicine, and Co-Director of The PRIDE Study
