When one person in a relationship is living with HIV and the other person is not (also known as a discordant couple).

Serostatus

A medical term that refers to whether or not someone has antibodies in the blood. In the case of HIV, if there are HIV antibodies in a person’s blood, it is an indicator that the person is living with HIV. That person’s serostatus would be seropositive.
