November 20, 2019 - Research Center for Health, Social, and Educational Equity Opens
Researchers within the ATN work every day to further innovative research for youth HIV prevention and care. The newly formed Equity Research Corner at Florida State University is one place where ATN researchers are collaborating and implementing health, social, and educational interventions for better health for youth. The Equity Research Corner celebrated its inauguration with an open house on November 7.
Dr. Sylvie Naar, Chair of the ATN Executive Committee and Scale It Up Principal Investigator, is the Director of the Center for Translational Behavioral Science (CTBScience) at Florida State University. CTBScience is one of the Equity Research Corner’s centers. Dr. Naar is a Distinguished Endowed Professor at the Florida State University College of Medicine.
CTBScience’s mission is to work towards improving public health and health equity. In particular, the Adolescent and Emerging Adult Health Equity Program is tied to ATN funding through Scale It Up for behavioral interventions for youth HIV prevention and care.
Several staff members from within the ATN are involved with the organization. See more at the CTBScience website.
